Welcome to my page

I am an English guide

in charge of Shinjuku Gyoen Garden.

Below is the sightseeing spot I provide the guiding service.

Name of tour venue: Shinjuku Gyoen Garden
Shinjuju Gyoen garden was created in 1906 as a garden for the Imperial Family in the premises of Naito clan who was a fudal loard of Takato, Shinshu in Edo period. The garden was opened to the public after the end of World War II.
There are various ways of how to get to the garden since it is conveniently located. 10 mins walk from JR, Keio, Odakyu Shinjuku Station South Exit. 5 mins walk from Shinjuku Gyoen Station of Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line and Shinjuku 3-chome Station of Fukutoshin Line.
There are English landscape, French formal and Japanese gardens which are skillfully combined. Shinjuku Gyoen is one of the most famous western style gardens in Japan.
There are about 10,000 trees in the garden, therefore, visitors can enjoy the nature throughout the 4 seasons. Especially cherry trees of 1,000 in 65 different species bloom with time delays.

My personal information

I like running and trekking(mountaineering). I run 5 days a week and about 11Km a day early in the morning. Then I try to run a little more than 200Km a month in an average. On the other hand I do trekking or mountaineering in relatively low altitude mountains in Okutama and Okuchichibu with my colleagues of my former employer. Also I climb the highest mountain in japan, Mt. Fuji, in a middle of July every year. As summer climb to Mt. Fuji has become so popular especially in the last couple of years, there are a lot of congestions on a narrow mountain trail. So the sun would have arisen before we reached the summit.
I majored in Economics at Meiji University. And I have worked several Japanese and US origin IT companies since I graduaged from the university. For totaling 9 years I had lived in the U.S. and the last 4 years I managed a company called, Citizen Systems America which is an IT arm of Citizen Watch Group, as President and CEO. I think I have a top tier capability of English communication especially in the areas of listening, reading, speaking, writing and presentation. I have a score of 965 points with TOEIC.
I have had experience of guiding several visitors and obtained reputation of “Good and detailed explanation of tour venues”, “Easier to understand because of graphics with written explanation of the venues”. I have some unique way of guiding small group of FIT guests by using PowerPoint presentation.
My guided guests have been basically FIT(Free Independent Tourists), therefore, I have been trying to be adaptive to the requests from the guest. This may be one of the reasons why I have obtained a high reputation as a good tour guide.

Guide Fee

Basically I charge Jpy30,000 per day for the group of 5 to 6 persons. But I could do the guiding like half day Tpkyo tour with the charge of Jpy3,000 per hour for upto 10 persons. I am flexible to the request of FIT guests.
