Tokyo_Ueno Park & Ameyoko Shopping Street

I am an English guide in charge of
Ueno Park & Ameyoko Shopping Street.

Below is the sightseeing spot I provide the guiding service.

Ueno Park & Ameyoko Shopping Street

This 150-year-old park is recommended for any overseas traveler looking to refresh but has only a half day or so before the departure. With a 12 minute-JR ride from Tokyo Station you can stroll through the forest and among museums and zoo of Ueno Park. You will also experience traditional cultures such as small-scaled Kyoto’s Kiyomizu Temple, Nikko’s Toshogu and shrines which were constructed in the 17th century by Shogunate to entertain townspeople. You also can enjoy Japanese meals in a traditional restaurant house. The entire site (540,000 m2) had been the site of Kaneiji Temple, now reduced to 1/10 in size which we visit. At the west end there is a small lake with many lotus plants. 200m away from there is Ameyoko, a 70-year-old street (500m long) to enjoy food, souvenirs and fashion items sold at very reasonable price.

My personal information

For the first 3 years since I became a National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter in 2012, I worked as an interpreter in business scene because of my business experiences in oil& chemical import and trading and international business administration for a silicon wafer manufacturing corporation. I worked in NYC for a total of 8 years and then 2 years in Singapore. Through these global experiences I enjoyed both different cultures and friendships with a lot people. Business and conference organizanizers, after business engagement, started to ask me for conducting attendees’ short tours before their departure. I have started to enjoy guiding because it helps boost cultural exchanges. In addition, guiding requires walking which helps improve my health as well. I hope you enjoy cultural exchange with Japanese through my guiding tour.

Guide Fee

5 hours with up to 4 persons at US$150, additional fee of US$25 per person, with a maximum of 6 per group; an additional charge of US$30 per group for visiting any of museums or zoo , any admission fee will be at travelers’ expense ; if travelers wish, visit to museums or zoo in stead of walking through Ameyoko (meaning you can replace Ameyoko walk with visiting a museum) at no extra cost ( any of the above fees is also payable in equivalent Japanese yen)

Please read my proposal carefully. I will make every effort to make your trip pleasant.

I will e-mail my proposal to you if you consider to request my service.

Voices of Customers

Ueno Park is much smaller than NY’s Central Park but has a comparable or even more of greenery; museums and zoo is compactly located and moreover is a very attractive spot with traditional Japanese temples and shrines and traditional western-style buildings (a couple from USA)
