I am an English guide in charge of

Below is the sightseeing spot I provide the guiding service.

Two-hour train ride or car ride from Tokyo takes you to the World Cultural Heritage Site, Nikko. It has a harmony of cultural assets and nature. Toshogu shrine which was built in 17th century by the 3rd Edo shogun Iemitsu was dedicated to the first Edo shogun, Tokugawa Ieyasu. It is very gorgeous shrine which has 5000 sculptures in the precinct. After long civil wars Ieyasu won the battles and he tried to make peaceful society. Therefore the theme of the shrine is ‘peace’. You can find peace in every sculpture. For example, the noted sculpture ‘a sleeping cat’ itself represents peace. And also on the back of sculpture, birds are playing peacefully in spite of the closeness of the cat. It implies the peace of a cat and sparrows living in harmony. The gorgeous Yomeimon gate has also a lot of sculprures in which you can find peace.
