Kanagawa_Yokohama Sankeien

I am an English guide in charge of
Yokohama Sankeien.

My proposal

Government licensed tour guide. I have been living in Yokohama for 35 years, and have been working in Tokyo for more than 30 years; 20 years as a business person,10 years as a teacher.
So, I’m familiar with sightseeing spots and hidden places in Yokohama, while Tokyo is another special place for me!
Three years ago, I became a tour guide just because I love Japan and I’m proud of my country! Among all, I’m really fascinated with the seasonal changes, 4 clear-cut seasons; each of them has its own attraction.

My personal information I would like to tell you

I like meeting new people from all over the world, and Japan. I’d like to help you find the seasonal tastes of Tokyo & Yokohama, Japan specially arranged for you whenever you come! Also, I’d be willing to answer your any questions about Japanese cultures, such as Sumo, Kimono, Furoshiki, Tea ceremony, Ninja, Karate, Wadaiko, Kabuki, you name it! If you are interested in one or more of them, I would like to help you find the right place to enjoy it.
My guiding policy is I would be flexible to make a special plan according to the tour’s tastes.

Below is the sightseeing spot I provide the guiding service.

Sightseeing spot

Sankeien Garden
Sankeien Garden is a Japanese traditional garden located in the suburb of Yokohama.
The meeting spot is Yokohama station or Sakuragicho station, from which it’s 30 minutes by bus.

三渓園02Yokohama Sankeien is a Japanese traditional garden designed by Sankei Hara, who established wealth in silk trade.
He was also a tea master & artist as well as a trader. The garden features valuable structures carried from local areas throughout Japan, including 3-storied pagoda transported from Kyoto. The harmony of these buildings with nature is beyond description in any season. It is called “Oasis in Yokohama”.

Sankeien is divided into “Inner garden (Previous Residence of Sankei Hara) and “Outer Garden” open to public, in both of which I will help you find your own “Sankeien”.
1) 17 building s & structures including 10 ones designated as World heritages.

2) Nature changing according to seasons (Flowers, Trees)
3) Sankei Hara’s Memorial Museum where his works are displayed.
4) Experience Tea Ceremony with Japanese sweets.
5) Enjoy Japanese foods (Oden, Udon) & sweets (Japanese dumplings, etc.)

If you’d like to be interested in walking surrounding areas, I will make a plan specially arranged for you according to your favor (Additional hours). Followings are examples.
1)Minato Mirai Area (Yamashita Park Sea side Walk, Red Brick Building, Landmark Tower, etc.)
2)Sankeien Garden (Traditional Japanese Garden designed by a rich silk trader)
3)Yokohama major towers (Modern or traditional architecture buildings; King/Queen/Jack/Ace)
