Shizuoka_Shimizu

Welcome to my page

I am an English guide

in charge of Shimizu.

My proposal

I would like to guide Atami, Hakone, Fuji, Shizuoka and the area in the vicinity, depending on the requests of guests. The area is easily accessible from Tokyo and on the route from the metropolis to Kyoto area.

My personal information I would like to tell you

I am a National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter in Atami, Shizuoka. I also have a certificate of Itinerary Control Manager.
I grew up in Yokohama, spent 1 year as a high school exchange student in the US, went to college and lived/worked in Tokyo before coming to this beautiful onsen resort. I was engaged in international exchange and cultural affairs at the city administration office for 9 years and obtained a guide license in 2016.
Atami is conveniently located at the foot of the Hakone mountains, and the base of the Izu Peninsula. It is also close to Mt. Fuji and the Shimizu Port in Shizuoka. I am excited to show people around beautiful places that I love. After becoming a guide, I met with guests from various backgrounds, and I feel grateful once again, for my experience to be exposed to different cultures in my youth.

Below is the sightseeing spot I provide the guiding service.

Sightseeing spot

三保の松原I can offer guiding service to guests on cruise ships that arrive at Shimizu Port in Shizuoka. In this area there are World Heritage Sites of Mt. Fuji, Sengen Shrine, Miho Pine Grove, as well as Toshogu Shrine and Sumpu Castle Park that are related to the first Edo Shogun, Tokugawa Ieyasu. Post town of Yui on the medieval trunk road of Tokaido is in the vicinity, as well. I can guide guests not only based on the travel agents’ itineraries, but also I can satisfy customers on the spot catering to their needs and interests.

清水マグロShimizu and Shizuoka area at the foot of Mt. Fuji is home of Tokugawa Ieyasu, the 1st shogun of the Edo samurai Government. There is a reconstructed house of Shimizu Jirocho (yakuza gangster-turned businessman at the end of the Edo era), which became a tourist spot. It is known for production of tea leaves, wide variety of sea food, so I am sure the guests will enjoy delicious fish, tea-leaf picking experience, and more.
